ABSTRACT
Educational practices that form and empower the health workers influence and receive influence of the day-by-day experience
of these workers in health services. Because of this, it’s necessary to empower the education as an instrument of the health
work managing on the health permanent education. This study is oriented by this concept and has the purpose of analyzing
the educational process of the health workers at the health basic unit in the health coordination of Butantã sub -city council,
by the analysis of the workers profile, the health staff and the identified educational process. A quantified and qualified
study has been done concerning descriptive and exploratory aspects, in which the data were collected by the use of two
different rolls of questions submitted at primary and secondary resources. 13 main informants representing the staff and the
professionals from the area have been interviewed. The above-mentioned study shows us that most part of the workers are
secondary graduated (nursery assistants and community agents totalized 55 – 54% of the total amount of workers) and the
absence of psychosocial workers, being a proportion of 25:1 between biomedical and psychosocial workers. A total of 59
education processes have been identified with elements that show a tendency for the continuing education, such as: education
process which, comes out of daily work; the community and multiprofessional staff as main objective learning strategies that
stimulate the participation and ascendant requirement. By the other hand, all the above elements are always living together
with educational activities, which show continuing education elements, aiming the professional categories, with knowledge,
learning strategies and descendent requirements.
